Some further news about the forthcoming production of Die Walküre in Singapore
The well-known magazine Bachtrack recently did a feature article on the Music Makers of Singapore, a non-professional orchestra with a passion for Wagner. They are the initiators of this production of Die Walküre and are working with the Richard Wagner Association of Singapore to present the opera.

Dr Katherine Wallace and Dr Peter Kellock gave two fascinating talks to a packed and attentive audience on Saturday Nov. 30 about the upcoming Singapore premiere of Die Walküre, which the Orchestra of the Music Makers is performing with a cast of excellent international singers on Sunday Jan. 5 in the Esplanade Concert Hall from 4pm.
Dr Wallace focused on the sources, philosophy, context, plot and characters, while Dr Kellock discussed the musical structure, themes and the leitmotifs, playing a selection of short, powerful and sublime excerpts from the great work. All told, a compelling and spiritually enriching afternoon.
