WS Vienna holds a Scholars' Concert and a semi-staged Holländer
The Wagner Society in the Austrian capital recently held two premium events - a Scholars' concert and a semi-staged production of Fliegende Holländer

As one of the highlights of the past year, to mark the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the premiere of Der Fliegende Holländer, the WV Vienna initiated a semi-staged performance (without chrous and with piano accompaniment) in co-operation with the Landstraßer Bezirksfestwochen 2018.

This year's Scholars' concert in co-operation with the Vienna State Opera took place on 29 September

The following scholarship holders took part:

Matthias Spielvogel, tenor with songs by Schubert and Schumann;
Isabella Kuëss, a young dramatic soprano with Elsas dream and Puccini's "Vissi d'arte";
Hans-Jörg Gaugelhofer, lyric tenor with arias by Mozart and Rossini;
Beata Beck, mezzo-soprano with arias by Mozart "Durch Zärtlichkeit und Schmeicheln" and Donizetti
Annina Wachter, lyric soprano with arias by Mozart and Bellini;
Stefan Donner, pianist and organist with Prelude and Fugue op. 99 No 1 and Prelude and Fugue
op. 99 No 6 by Max Reger;

Ekaterina Nokkert accompanied the singers at the piano
