Third Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition in Aalborg announced
This relatively new and highly prestigious singing competition for Wagner voices has recently announced the dates and the structure for 2017. Singers up to the age of 42 are invited to apply.
The Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition, now in its third year, will take place in Aalborg Denmark from 10 November (preliminary round) to the 18 November (Gala Final).  Founded and chaired by the renowned Danish Wagner tenor Poul Elming, this event is aimed at young Wagner singers up to the age of 42.

The competition will take place over several days, and comprises a preliminary round and a quarter final with piano accompaniment, and a semi-final and final with full orchestra.

Applications are now being invited from qualifying participants.  The closing date for entries is 1 May 2017.
