Another 10,000 Euros-donation from Frankfurt for Riga
Another 10,000 Euros-donation from Frankfurt for Riga
Thanks to the participating members of the somewhat different fan club of the Frankfurt Wagner Friends, our first donation from 2021 could be repeated and a few days ago again 10,000 Euros to be transferred to the Richard Wagner Society Riga.
This continued building of a cultural bridge between Frankfurt and the Latvian capital is not only an expression of solidarity among Wagner enthusiasts, but also of solidarity in challenging times.
After years of preparatory project work with the obtaining of expert opinions, trade tenders, analyses of cost estimates and applications for subsidies, the official building permit from the city of Riga has been available since 24 November. Now there is hammering, drilling, walls and ceilings are torn down and rebuilt elsewhere. So work is being done in the theatre and a new, very concrete and exciting phase is beginning. With each passing day, it is possible to observe how a vision becomes reality.
The RWV Frankfurt is looking forward to the progress of the construction project and thus the reopening of this authentic Wagner site in Riga.
At the same time, we would like to encourage all friendly Wagner associations worldwide to do the same with their own fundraising campaigns for this special cause.
