Wagner singer becomes Director of the Latvian National Opera
Egils Silins, known to many for his performances in Bayreuth and elsewhere in the great bass-baritone Wagner roles has been announced as the new boss in Latvia
Silins, aged 57, has sung Wagner for many years, notably in Amsterdam and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

His tenure in Riga began on 5 November.
