Bayreuth appoints its first woman conductor
In a first for the Festival, the young Ukrainian conductor, Oksana Lyniv will take up the baton for the new production of Der fliegender Holländer.
Since the beginning of the season 2017/18, Oksana Lyniv has been chief conductor of the Graz Opera and the Grazer Philharmonic Orchestra.

And while on the subject the good news is that Asmik Grigorian will sing Senta.
Other news is that Dmitri Tcherniakov will direct the production.
