Painting Competition for Lohengrin in Barcelona
The Wagner Club Barcelona, the MEAM · European Museum of Modern Art and the Foundation of Arts and Artists, with the collaboration of the Gran Teatro del Liceu and the support of Katharina Wagner, call for an international painting competition with a First Prize of €15,000, on the theme of Richard Wagner's Lohengrin.
On the occasion of this new production that the Liceu will premiere next season, by Katharina Wagner, great-granddaughter of the composer and director of the Bayreuth Festival, this contest has been organised with the aim of bringing together various arts: music, theatre, and painting. The theme of the contest will be exclusively that of Lohengrin, both the character created by Richard Wagner and any theme related to this Wagnerian drama.
